<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance display performance of an electro-optical device of a liquid crystal device or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The electro-optical device includes: a data line (6a) and a scanning line (11) on a substrate (10); a pixel electrode (9a) provided by corresponding to the intersection of the data line and the scanning line; a transistor (30) including (i) a semiconductor layer (1a) arranged in a different layer through the scanning line and an insulation film (12) and along a Y direction extending the data line and (ii) a gate electrode (3) arranged in the layer of an opposite side of the scanning line to the semiconductor layer.
