PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retaining device for transportation which retains a vase so as not to fall and is capable of easily performing loading/unloading from a vehicle. SOLUTION: The retaining device 10 is provided with a retaining case 11; a retaining body 20 arranged in the retaining case 11; a vertical movement body 13 for driving the retaining body 20 in a direction approaching/separating relative to the vase 1; and a drive mechanism 14 for vertically moving the vertical movement body 13. The retaining body 20 is provided with a roller 29 rolling on an inner peripheral surface of the vertical movement body 13 formed in a taper shape; and a retaining plate 22 provided with a rubber 21 and retaining the vase 1. The retaining plate 22 is swingably connected to a movement shaft 24 having one end slidably supported on the retaining case 11.
