An organic electroluminescent device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to minimize contact resistance of a spacer by securing stability of the spacer to maintain a cell gap between upper and lower substrates. An organic electroluminescent device includes a first substrate(130), a second substrate(110), an organic electroluminescent layer(320), a thin film transistor(Tr), an adhesion film(208), and a planarization film. The organic electroluminescent layer is formed on the first substrate. The thin film transistor is formed on the second substrate. The adhesion film and the planarization film are interposed between the first and second substrates. The planarization film is an organic insulating film. |
