A fabrication method of a sintered friction material is provided to prevent sweating at a Cu based sintered friction material and to obtain stable friction features by adding CaSi2 to the Cu based sintered friction material. A fabrication method of a sintered friction material comprises the steps of: mixing 3 to 5 parts of weight of CaSi2 with respect to 100 parts of weight of a component raw material of a Cu based sintered friction material; charging the mixed raw material in the mold and applying 4 to 8 ton/cm^2 of step pressure type vertical pressure; and sintering the mold in a sintering furnace whose vacuum is less than 10^-5 torr at 950 to 1000°C for 1 to 3 hours.
