An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) module recognition method and a device thereof are provided to enable a control board of a terminal to perform initialization by recognizing a manufacturer of an LCD module based on a duty ratio of an ID signal, thereby simplifying a manufacturer recognition system of the LCD module. An LCD module(31) has an ID signal generator(31A) which generates an ID signal for expressing a manufacturer of the LCD module as an intrinsic duty ratio. A control board(32A) recognizes the manufacturer of the LCD module based on the duty ratio of the ID signal, and carries out display initialization in accordance with the recognized manufacturer.
