A grinding device is provided to improve grinding efficiency and to allow more versatility on the size of a workpiece by having fewer parts and therefore less assembly, which costs less expense. A smaller grinding device grinding a cylindrical workpiece(P) includes a base, a sand paper installation roller(40) for mounting a roll of sand paper band, a grinding unit for refining the surface of materials with round shape sand paper band and for moving the roller in a longitudinal direction, a take-up unit installed on a base for changing grinding surface of sand paper, a tension roller for adjusting tension of the sand paper band between the grinding unit and the take-up unit, a rotational gear for adjusting relative position between the sand paper installation roller and the tension roller by ascending and descending along a vertical slot with being interlocked by gear teeth provided on the vertical slot, a bracket(51) assembled with a support roller(21), a guide rail(52) on the base for guiding movement of the support roller, a drive unit(53) having a motor(55) at a side of the rail to stroke on the guide rail in a longitudinal direction and a crank mechanism(56) to convert rotational motion of the motor into reciprocating motion, and a holder(54) for limiting positional changes of the sand paper band. |
