<p>The invention relates to a method for improving the cold-start, i.e. below an reference room temperature, of a diesel engine (M) comprising n cylinders (C<SUB>1</SUB>, C<SUB>2</SUB>, C<SUB>3</SUB>, C<SUB>4</SUB>), with n higher than or equal to 2. the method is characterised in that it involves carrying out the following steps: a) at a temperature higher than said reference room temperature (TR), determining among the n cylinders (C<SUB>1</SUB>, C<SUB>2</SUB>, C<SUB>3</SUB>, C<SUB>4</SUB>) the cylinder or cylinders which are the most efficient; b) at a temperature lower than said reference room temperature (TR), disabling the injectors (I<SUB>1</SUB>, I<SUB>2</SUB>, I<SUB>3</SUB>, I<SUB>4</SUB>) of a portion of said cylinders (C<SUB>1</SUB>, C<SUB>2</SUB>, C<SUB>3</SUB>, C<SUB>4</SUB>), i.e. the least efficient cylinder of cylinders of step a), and starting the engine; and c) activating the injectors of the cylinders deactivated during step b) with a time delay.</p> |
