PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for protein immobilization capable of high efficiency utilization of and prevention of nonspecific bonding of an immobilized antibody. SOLUTION: This carrier for protein immobilization, having mesopores which is a protein-immobilizing carrier comprising a porous body having mesopores, is formed by physically adsorbing and immobilizing an antibody, an antigen or fragments thereof onto a range, below the hole size of the pore from a pore inlet in the depth direction of each mesopore; and after adsorbing the antibody, the antigen or an organic substance, other than the fragment thereof having a smaller particle size than the hole size of the mesopore into each mesopore.
