<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a PIV analysis by an image correlation method using a gray image of a measurement object without using a particulate image. <P>SOLUTION: In the image analysis system, an image processing means 43 comprises a filtering means 431 which filters spatial frequency components of each gray image at two continuous times, and cuts spatial frequency components of a wavelength of at least a predetermined length or longer, preferably longer than the twice length L of a reference area, more preferably longer than the length L of the reference area. By this, a peak of a correlation coefficient becomes clear, and a maximum moving distance between the gray images at the two times can be obtained from the peak position of the correlation coefficient.
