PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient facsimile machine. SOLUTION: The facsimile machine includes: a facsimile number receiving part 101 for receiving the telephone number of a transmission destination; a verification part 117 for calling the telephone number, receiving the called telephone number from a called terminal, and collating it with the calling telephone number; an address book storage part 103 for designating every telephone number whether the verification is necessary; a transmission part 110 for transmitting image data to the transmission destination; and a determination part 107 for making the verification part 117 perform verification when the verification necessity is designated according to the designation by a verification designation part, making the transmission part 119 transmit the image data when it is determined that the called telephone number and the calling telephone number coincide with each other, prohibiting the transmission of the image data when it is determined that they do not coincide with each other, and making the transmission part 119 transmit the image data unconditionally when the verification unnecessity is designated.
