PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize optimal recording power for each of the recording layers to be decided in an optical recording medium equipped with a plurality of recording layers to which information can be recorded by laser beam irradiation from one surface.

SOLUTION: The device is equipped with the plurality of recording layers to which the information can be recorded by the laser beam irradiation from the one surface, and in each of the above recording layers, power calibration areas (PCA) (52) and (61) for optimizing intensity of the above laser beam are arranged.
