PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat display device used in combination with a base composed of left and right support columns and a bottom plate, and the flat display device which can be reliably and easily placed on the base by adjusting the left and the right support columns and to provide the base. SOLUTION: Left and right two mounting members of a circular columnar shape are fixed to a display 1 and a V-shaped mounting member 5 fixed to the left and the right support columns 6 of the base 2 is fitted to the display 1 in installation, and the left and the right support columns 6 of the base are adjusted with respect to the display 1 and thereby the display 1 and the base 2 are positioned and are fixed by setscrews 8.
