A direct type backlight unit, a preparation method thereof, and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) including the same are provided to improve a viewing angle by increasing luminance and luminance uniformity. A direct type backlight unit includes a transparent plate(230) and a light-diffusion film(243). The transparent plate is made of non-crystalline transparent thermoplastic resin. The light-diffusion film is stacked on one side of the transparent plate and made of the non-crystalline transparent thermoplastic resin and transparent particles. The non-crystalline transparent thermoplastic resin includes one or more elements selected from a group including polyalkyl(meta)acrylate, alkyl(meta)acrylate-styrene copolymer, polycarbonate, polyvinyl chloride, styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer, styrene-anhydrousmaleic acid copolymer, styrene-anhydrousmaleic acid derivative copolymer, cyclo-olefin copolymer, polyacrylonitrile, polystyrene, polysulfone, polyethersulfone, and polyarylate.
