The device has a screw/nut type actuator placed in a horizontal hollow crosspiece (T) of a leaf (P) for controlling longitudinal displacement of an articulating axis (A) of a connecting rod (B). An end of the rod is longitudinally and laterally articulated in a fixed offset point (F) at a pivoting axis (X) of the leaf. The actuator comprises an electric motor (W) for activating a screw (V) on which a runner (C) is hitched, where the runner receives the articulating axis of the rod.
