PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer paperboard having excellent heat insulating properties, heat retaining properties and processing/laminating/box-making suitability to a corrugated board sheet, a corrugated board packaging container, an interior packaging container, etc., and an excellent printability, and the packaging container using the multilayer paperboard. SOLUTION: The multilayer paperboard is obtained by coating at least one side of a base paper with a coating liquid containing at least hollow inorganic particles, a thermally expandable particle and a binder to provide a coating layer.
