PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC-DC converter which can prevent intermittent operation of a switching element through a simple arrangement while preventing degradation in output power supply efficiency. SOLUTION: The DC-DC converter 1 comprises a conversion circuit 42, a transformer 43, a rectifier circuit 44, a capacitor 46, a circuit 2 for controlling the operation of the conversion circuit 42 by performing start and drive operation with power obtained from an auxiliary power supply 47, and a diode 3 provided between the capacitor 46 and the control circuit 2 wherein the output from the capacitor 46 is consumed by the control circuit 2 in place of a bleeder resistor.
