PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a private branch exchange capable of appropriately performing a facsimile communication using an IP network. SOLUTION: The private branch exchange, which has a VoIP gateway function of connecting a facsimile apparatus to the IP network and a facsimile communication function of performing local facsimile communication with a plurality of facsimile apparatuses FX connected on an extension side, includes a communication information storage means for storing a plurality pieces of communication information to be applied when a connection with the IP network is made. Once detecting a facsimile apparatus on the extension side dials a predetermined number for communication information acquisition, the private branch exchange makes a call termination response to the calling, applies a predetermined facsimile polling communication procedure with the calling-side facsimile apparatus, and transmits communication information notice image information, generated based upon an image showing the plurality of pieces of communication information stored in the communication information storage means, to the calling-side facsimile apparatus.
