A device for offering a control window menu in a horizontal viewing-type mobile communication terminal and a method therefor are provided to use a display area whose horizontal length is expanded if a display unit is in horizontal viewing state sufficiently, and to offer a customizing menu randomly which includes desired items of a user, thereby magnifying the user's convenience. If a display unit of a mobile communication terminal is rotated, a rotated state is checked to decide whether the display unit is currently in horizontal viewing state(300). If so, information for generating a control window menu is read(302). The control window menu is generated according to the control window related information(304). Prestored UI(User Interface) setup information is read, and a generated UI is rotated according to the horizontal viewing state, so that the rotated UI is outputted(306). The control window menu is outputted to an area where the UI is not outputted(308).
