<p>An overhead traveling vehicle is provided to realize the compactness of size in a height direction by obtaining a thin and light and small lateral drive in comparison with a case of rotating an arm such as a scalar arm. An overhead traveling vehicle includes a longitudinal movement mechanism to move a conveying device of articles to right and left of a driving direction. The longitudinal movement mechanism has a fixed base portion(22), a middle portion(24), and a front portion(26) in order from top to bottom. The fixed base unit has a driving unit. The middle portion supports the conveying device and slides left and right. The middle portion travels both left and right sides by the driving unit. The front portion supports the conveying device, is supported by the middle portion and slides right and left. The front portion is moved right and left by following the left and right movements of the middle portion.</p> |
