A cleaning solution for an alignment layer printing plate, and a method for cleaning an alignment layer printing plate by using the cleaning solution are provided to improve cleaning power and cleaning efficiency, thereby enhancing the productivity of a display substrate and display quality. A cleaning solution for an alignment layer printing plate comprises a nonionic surfactant mixture comprising a hydrophobic surfactant and a hydrophilic surfactant. Preferably the nonionic surfactant mixture has an HLB(hydrophilic-lipophilic balance) of 6-10. Preferably the hydrophobic surfactant is a Span-based surfactant and the hydrophilic surfactant is a Tween-based surfactant; or the hydrophobic surfactant and the hydrophilic surfactant are a POE-alkyl ether-based surfactant.
