<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video telephone unit for checking whether other video telephone units have adopted prevention countermeasures against improper use of call content, and to provide a communications system and a communication method. <P>SOLUTION: A terminal 5 can receive history information for other terminals from an apparatus information disclosure WEB server 50, when the terminal 5 starts communication with the other terminals. Accordingly, prior to transmission of communication information to the other terminal, the terminal 5 can recognize if the other terminal has used the communication information transmitted from the terminal 5 to the other terminal in an undesired fashion, based on the history information.
