摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a phenolic resin, whose reaction can easily be controlled and by which the phenolic resin little having foams can be obtained.

SOLUTION: This method for producing the phenolic resin, comprising subjecting a phenol compound and an aldehyde compound to an addition condensation reaction in the presence of a reaction catalyst, is characterized by performing the addition condensation reaction in a reduced pressure atmosphere. The addition condensation reaction in the reduced pressure atmosphere enables to control the reaction rate, facilitate the control of the reaction, and vacuum-degassing of a gas enfolded by agitation, evaporated steam or the like from the resin during the reaction, thereby making it possible to give the phenolic resin little containing foams.
