<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide multilayered paper excellent in water vapor barrier properties, gas barrier properties, mechanical characteristics such as impact resistance, etc. and oil resistance, and a package obtained by the secondary processing of the multilayered paper. <P>SOLUTION: A hydrogenated norbonene ring-opening polymer is obtained by hydrogenating 80% or above of the carbon-carbon double bond of a ring-opening polymer obtained by the ring-opening polymerization of 2-norbornene or a monomer mixture composed of 2-norbornene and a substituent-containing norbornene monomer, the presence ratio of a repeating unit (A) originating from 2-norbornene with respect to the total repeating unit is 90-100 wt.%, the presence ratio of a repeating unit (B) originating from the substituent-containing norbornene monomer with respect to the total repeating unit is 0-10 wt.% and a melting point is 110-145°C. The multilayered paper has at least one layer containing this hydrogenated norbornene ring-opening polymer and at least one paper layer.
