PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device which can reduce power consumption in its partial display mode, and provide its drive method and an electric device. SOLUTION: The electro-optical device has a liquid crystal panel 1 arranged in cross-in-sqare shape by forming a pixel group 5 using four colore sub-pixels (R, G, B, W) provided corresponding to the crossing of two adjoining scanning lines G and two adjoining data lines S, a scanning line drive circuit 30, and a data line drive circuit 40. The scanning line drive circuit 30 sequentially supplies selection voltages to the scanning lines G in the whole surface display mode, but simultaneously supplies selection voltages to the scanning lines G for every pixel group in the black-and-white display in the partial display mode.
