A lithium secondary battery is provided to improve impact resistance, to prevent generation of cracks in a hot melting portion, and to reduce the amount of a resin required for molding. A lithium secondary battery(300) comprises: a bare cell(100) whose one electrode terminal(31) protrudes out from the top surface(133); a protection circuit portion(200) having an external terminal coupled to one shorter surface of two shorter surfaces that are in contact with the shorter side of the top surface and exposed to the exterior; and a cushioning member(250) installed inside the protection circuit portion. The protection circuit portion comprises: a protection circuit module; and a hot melting portion formed by molding the region including the protection circuit module with a hot melt resin while the external terminal is exposed. |
