PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time required from starting of an endoscope processor having a touch panel entry unit until an endoscope comes ready for an observation of a subject. SOLUTION: The endoscope processor 10 includes first and second CPUs 22a, 22b, a mechanical switch unit 24, and the touch panel unit 25. The mechanical switch unit 24 includes a lamp switch 24L, a pump switch 24P, and a white balance switch 24W. The second CPU 22b drives the touch panel unit 25. The second CPU 22b transmits a command input signal corresponding to the manipulated input into the touch panel unit to the first CPU 22a. The first CPU 22a carries out prescribed features of the endoscope system 10 base on the command input signal corresponding to the manipulated input into the mechanical switch unit 24 or the command input signal transmitted from the second CPU 22b.
