PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance manufacturing work efficiency of an optical element and to obtain stable characteristics thereof. SOLUTION: After dummy material substrates (3) having≤10<SP>12</SP>Ωcm resistivity are stuck to a surface (12a) and a surface (12a) opposed thereto other than the laser light incident surface (2i) of a wavelength conversion crystal (2), the wavelength conversion crystal (2) is stuck to the laser light emission surface (1o) of a laser crystal (1). Since a body formed by sticking the dummy materials 3 to the wavelength conversion crystal (2) is stuck to the laser crystal (1), sticking work is made easy; operation efficiency of manufacture can be enhanced and sticking operation can be performed with stable quality. A surface charge is not produced in the dummy material (3); peeling of adhesion due to intermolecular force of the surface charge is not produced; the wavelength conversion crystal (2) is not adversely affected by the static electric field of the surface charge and stable characteristics can be obtained.
