PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of safely manufacturing iodine pentafluoride with more excellent productivity by moderately conducting the reaction of iodine with fluorine while avoiding problems in the conventional manufacturing method of manufacturing the iodine pentafluoride. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing iodine pentafluoride by reacting fluorine with iodine, a molten iodine phase and iodine pentafluoride phase positioned adjacent to and above the molten iodine phase are formed and the fluorine is supplied to a vapor phase and/or the iodine pentafluoride phase positioned adjacent to and above the iodine pentafluoride phase.
