<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous titanium oxide having improved UV-proofing ability, usability and transparency in the visible region and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The porous titanium oxide can be prepared by thermally hydrolyzing a titanium salt solution containing a polyhydric alcohol after adding an alkali. Also the thermal hydrolysis can be effected by further adding an acid after adding the alkali, and the resulting mixture after hydrolysis may be heated and hydrolysed with an acid. The average grain size of the porous titanium oxide is 0.01-1.0μm and its specific surface area is 50 m<SP>2</SP>/g or larger. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
