PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that image quality is sometimes adversely affected depending on the recording image, in an inkjet recording device in which recording is effected onto a nonporous recording medium using aqueous ink. SOLUTION: Disclosed is an inkjet recording device wherein recording on a nonporous recording medium (50) is performed using aqueous ink, while the recording medium is conveyed into a recording region (55) facing the recording head (9). Prior to recording, the recording medium is heated in a region (54) on the upstream side of the recording region, in relation to the conveyance direction of the recording medium; during recording, the recording medium is heated in the recording region; and, after recording, the recording medium is heated in a region (56) on the downstream side of the recording region, in relation to the conveyance direction of the recording medium. Control is performed so that the surface temperature of the recording medium in the region on the downstream side is higher than the surface temperature of the recording medium in the recording region, and in the region on the upstream side, and so that the surface temperature of the recording medium in the recording region is higher than the temperature of the recording head.
