PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve information security by flexibly changing information to be disclosed according to the other party in an information exchange system for performing transmitting and receiving of information through an electric field transmitting medium. SOLUTION: The portable terminal 1 includes a transceiver, a storage means storing a plurality of own user IDs, a receiving means for receiving a level for disclosing information of the own user to the other user, and a communication means for transmitting the own user ID corresponding to the level to the other portable terminal and receiving and storing the other user ID from the other portable terminal. A computer 5 transmits an information acquisition request including the other user ID to an information exchange server 7. The information exchange server 7 includes a database 73 storing, for every user, a plurality of pieces of information for the user concerned and the level of each piece of information, and an information providing means for extracting information of the other user of the level corresponding to the other user ID designated by the information acquisition request from the computer 5 from the database 73, and transmitting it to the computer 5.
