The animal feed producing plant 1 has a processing area 10 and a warehouse area (automated warehouse) 200 which are adjacent each other. The processing area 10 has a building 20 in which transfer lines 21 for transferring small containers C each containing a raw material, intermediate product or product are laid; and a group 30 of processing equipments including a mixing equipment, processing equipment, packaging equipment and the like, connected to both sides of the building 20. The small container C can be transferred between the building 20 and the automated warehouse 200. Each of the processing equipments is constructed by unitizing plural unit structures 31 having a marine container size. The building 20 has plural decks (floors) connected to the unit structures 31. Accordingly, an animal feed producing plant and method having improved traceability of the material can be provided. And, it facilitates expansion, removal and contraction of the equipment and is also available for a small-lot production of various kind products.
