A rubbing device for LCDs(Liquid Crystal Displays) and a method for driving the same are provided to shorten the time for a rubbing process and to improve the throughput of the rubbing process. A rubbing device for LCDs comprises the first table(10), the second table(20), a rubbing roller(50), and a roller driver. The first substrate(100) is settled at the first table. The second table is arranged facing the first table. The second substrate is settled at the second table. The rubbing roller is located between the first table and the second table when a rubbing process is carried out. The roller driver drives the rubbing roller. In addition, the rubbing device comprises a table driver. The table driver shifts the first table and the second table. |
