A method and an apparatus for combining substrates and a method for manufacturing a surface light source unit using the same are provided to present a surface light source unit having excellent durability by improving the bonding strength of a bonding agent. An apparatus for combining the first substrate(11) with the second substrate(12) comprises a bonding agent providing part, a bonding agent melting part and a bonding agent coagulating part. The bonding agent providing part inserts a bonding agent(14) between the first substrate and the second substrate. The bonding agent melting part melts the bonding agent injected between first substrate and the second substrate and combines the first substrate and the second substrate. The bonding agent coagulating part coagulates the melted bonding agent. The bonding agent coagulating part comprises a heater to apply heat to the external surface of the bonding agent. The bonding agent coagulating part coagulates the bonding agent while applying heat to the external surface of the bonding agent.
