摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that can suppress the occurrence of a short-circuited defect even when a sealing adhesive intrudes into a peripheral circuit where a dummy electrode is formed and spacer particles crush the dummy electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device comprises: a first substrate 11 having a pixel region 501 where display pixels Px including pixel electrodes 500 are arranged, a peripheral circuit region 504 disposed outside the pixel region, and a sealing region that is disposed outside the peripheral circuit region and is to be coated with a sealing adhesive 506 containing spacer particles 511; a second substrate 12 having a counter electrode 13; and a liquid crystal LC sealed between the two substrates joined with the sealing adhesive as intruding into the peripheral circuit region. In the display device, a dummy electrode 519 having the same pattern as the pixel electrode is formed on the surface of the peripheral circuit region and the sealing region, and the dummy electrode at the position corresponding to a wiring line connected to a driving circuit section formed in the peripheral circuit region is divided so as not to be across the two wiring lines 530a, 530b having different potentials. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
