PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a genre classification device and a genre classification program for improving the classification precision of classification object information while suppressing the increase of a processing load. SOLUTION: This genre classification device 100 is provided with: a relevance dictionary DB150 for storing a relevance dictionary in which words and related words and word relevancy are associated with each other; a morpheme analysis processing part 120 for extracting keywords to be used in the classifying classification object information into genres from classification object information; a relevance evaluation part 160 for acquiring word relevancy between keywords and genre words based on related words associated with both the keywords and genre words by referring to the relevance dictionary, and for calculating genre relevancy between the keywords and the genres based on the acquired words relevancy; and a genre classification part 170 for classifying the classification object information into genres based on the genre relevancy calculated by the relevancy evaluation part 160.
