A program information searching method and a broadcasting receiver are provided to arrange and store program information after assigning a score to a token or a term by using a search engine and obtain a search result from program information about the arranged token or term when a user inputs a search keyword. A program information searching method comprises the following steps of: separating program-related information in a term unit of two or more syllable lengths(S10); extracting a token of a predetermined length unit from each term unit, and arranging program-related information about the extracted token(S20); assigning scores to each extracted token so that a score sum of the tokens within each term may be normalized(S30); and arranging the program-related information, including a token of which at least a part is consistent with a searched word when program-related information is searched, according to a score within the program-related information of the consistent token(S40).
