PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent leakage of a working gas by eliminating a seal part of a movable part and to enhance performance, in a Stirling engine provided with a displacer cylinder for sliding a displacer therein. SOLUTION: A displacer cylinder part 1A with a displacer 15 slidably arranged therein, and a piston cylinder 1B with a piston 20 slidably arranged therein are formed in a cylinder 1 arranged to be reciprocative with respect to a base 2 and having the inside sealed; and a link rod mechanism 14 having one side connected to the cylinder 1 and the other side connected to an output shaft 10 is provided. A fixation means 21 relatively fixing the piston 20 to the base 2 is arranged, and the cylinder 1 itself is reciprocated, whereby the cylinder 1 can be perfectly sealed to eliminate leakage of the working gas G, and torque can be generated not only by expansion of the working gas G in the cylinder 1 but also by contraction of the working gas G.
