PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently detect a peripheral device. SOLUTION: A wireless LAN driver 302 generates a device list indicating the list of devices detected by making a wireless LAN module 109 execute the scan processing of detecting the devices present around the electronic device through the broadcast transmission of a probe request packet and the reception of a corresponding probe response packet. The wireless LAN module 109 receives the probe request packets broadcast-transmitted from the devices other than the electronic device as well during the scan processing, and the wireless LAN driver 302 acquires information included in the probe request packets and performs the processing of adding the devices to the device list.
