<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method of improving life characteristics of an electron emitter. <P>SOLUTION: The driving method of this electron emitter is a method of driving the electron emitter 18 oppositely arranged against an anode 14, and in a waveform of a driving voltage for applying an electric field between the anode 14 and the electron emitter 18, the waveform is made included which is for selectively performing electric-field evaporation of fine protrusions 18b of the electron emitter 18 in order to carry out stabilization treatment at the initial stage of rising of the waveform. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
