<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality of a region where different kinds of objects are adjacent to each other even in the case of the image in which a region of characters/line drawing/large area of equal densities, a photograph region, and a ground tint region are mixed. <P>SOLUTION: A dividing means divides respective pixels constituting an inputted image into a character/line drawing region, a photograph region or a ground tint region. A specifying means specifies pixels of an adjacent region where at least two regions are adjacent to each other among the character/line drawing region, the photograph region and the ground tint region. Pixels divided to the character/line drawing region are developed only by a dark color developing means. Pixels divided to the photograph region are developed by a light color developing means and the dark color developing means. Pixels divided to the ground tint region are developed only by the light color developing means. Especially, about pixels in the adjacent region, a control means makes a control so as to form a latent image composed of pixels different from those of non-adjacent regions where the character/line drawing region, the photograph region, and the ground tint region are not adjacent to one another. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
