<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To add a dimming function of performing control of stably and inexpensively dimming light in a low brightness side to a passive matrix type display device. <P>SOLUTION: In a passive matrix type display device 1, a driving current I is supplied while an energizing current is controlled to a data electrode A where a plurality of light emitting elements E arranged in a first direction CD (column direction) are connected in parallel. A part of the driving current I supplied to the data electrode A is distributed and supplied as a dimming current Id to a dimming element E' which is laid as branched from the data electrode A outside a display area 120, so that the energizing current of individual light emitting element E connected to the data electrode A can be changed without changing the total driving current I flowing in the data electrode A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
