<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve display contrast by heightening retroreflective characteristics in a reflective type liquid crystal display device using a corner cube array. <P>SOLUTION: The reflective type display device is equipped with: a light modulation layer 64; a pair of substrates 60 and 62 holding the light modulation layer 64 in between; and an electrode structure to vary optical characteristics per pixel unit of the light modulation layer 64. One substrate 62 out of the pair of substrates is equipped with the corner cube array 66 comprising a plurality of arrayed corner cubes, the corner cube array 66 has a surface 66u to define a retroreflective surface, a bottom surface 66b, and a plurality of conductive members 80 aligned between the surface 66u and the bottom surface 66b, and a portion 80s of an upper face of each conductive member 80 constitutes a part positioned at a bottom point including the bottom point of the corner cube out of the surface of the corner cube array 66. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
