PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus which shortens a period required until starting of main scanning from a time when timing of starting the main scanning is given. SOLUTION: The X-ray CT apparatus measures the timing of starting the main scanning based on the variation of a CT value within a concerned area (ROI) set on a monitoring image obtained by performing prep scanning. In the prep scanning, a bed 31 is arranged deviated by the portion of an entrance length, and the position of a slit at an X-ray collimator 13 is arranged deviated in the direction of deviating the bed 31. In the main scanning, the bed 31 is moved from the position deviated by the portion of the entrance length to perform helical scanning. Thus, the period since the timing of starting the main scanning is given until the main scanning is started is shortened. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
