<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a depolymerized glucomannan distributable with lightweightness and also affordable with good handleability. <P>SOLUTION: The depolymerized glucomannan is obtained by such a process as to comprise the step of (S1) swelling a nondissolved devil's tongue glucomannan with an aqueous alcohol solution, (S2) adding an acidic additive to the resultant devil's tongue glucomannan, and (S3) subjecting the system to high-temperature/high-pressure treatment to make an acid hydrolysis of the devil's tongue glucomannan, followed by the step of (S4) subjecting the acid-hydrolyzed devil's tongue glucomannan to dehydration treatment to produce the objective depolymerized glucomannan in the form of flour. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
