The system has battery units (AU1, AU2) connected with one another by a switching arrangement (SA), where the switching arrangement has a switching unit (SM1) for serial connection of the battery units. A control device (SG) is provided for controlling the switching unit. The switching units (SM1, SM2) are switched for supplying the supply voltage by the control device depending on voltage amplitude of another supply voltage that is supplied by the battery unit (AU1).
