<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for mitigating adverse influence of an erosion coating with respect to fatigue characteristics of a base. <P>SOLUTION: Before applying the erosion coating on an easily worn and damaged radial outer side area in an airfoil of the gas turbine engine blade, burnishing is carried out to mitigate fatigue influence of the coat (step 102), peening is carried out to the area (step 104), and the coating is applied thereto(step 106).
