PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for treating radioactive waste to effectively separate and recover uranium, transuranium elements or radioactive nuclides from radioactive waste containing uranium, transuranium elements, radioactive nuclides or compounds of them. SOLUTION: A method for treating radioactive waste is used, which has a dissolutive separation process for dissolutively separating uranium, transuranium elements or radioactive nuclides from radioactive waste containing the uranium, the transuranium elements, the radioactive nuclides or compounds of them by an organic acid solution; a precipitate generation process for generating precipitate by detecting an oxidation-reduction potential in an oxidation-reduction reaction to react the uranium, the transuranium elements or the radioactive nuclides obtained in the above dissolutive separation process with an oxidizing agent and concurrently regulating the loading of the oxidizing agent on the basis of the result of the detection; and the separation process for separating the precipitate obtained in the above precipitate generation process.
