PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscosity measuring instrument capable of measuring the viscosity of a liquid such as ink or the like only by visually reading angle changing graduations, and a viscosity measuring method. SOLUTION: The viscosity measuring instrument is equipped with a viscosity measuring tank upward opened to the atmosphere and capable of storing a definite amount of a liquid at predetermined height while ejecting a liquid from a liquid jet flow channel provided to the lower part of its side surface to eject the liquid in a horizontal direction, a rigid liquid receiving plate receiving the liquid ejected from the flow channel by its one side and rotated centering around a support part corresponding to the magnitude of the impact force from the liquid to change in its angle and an angle measuring part for measuring the angle of the liquid receiving plate.
