The gear unit (11) is operated by a handle of a central lock and fits between a handle rosette and the central lock. A drive organ (16) fits on the shaft of the handle and co-operates with engagement elements (19,20) with parallel sliding intermediate parts (21,22) in a gear casing (12,13). Each intermediate part couples with a rod. When the drive organ is rotated from a locked to a rotating open position, the rods move out their lock pockets and couple with the intermediate part (21) for the lower rod, to enable further rotation of the drive organ in a tipping position, where the lower rod engages its lock pocket again and both rods can be brought back into their engagement position to move to the locked position. A coupling (32,34) is controlled according to the rotation position of the drive organ and couples the intermediate parts for common movement between the rotation and tilting positions and decouples them after return to the rotation position. An Independent claim is included for a cover profile for a rod lock with the gear unit. |
